Throwback Tuesdays – Tony Rich Project “Nobody Knows”

This Tuesday’s RnB Throwback is “Nobody Knows” by Tony Rich Project. There was a time in my life that I listened to this song for a good year or year and a half at least once a day..this was back in my senior year of high school. It’s an all around favorite to the masses, something that touches everyone’s heart. I believe it even won a few awards. I have no idea where this guy went, but this track was a sure hit. People often think that Babyface put down the vocals for this heavy hitter, but here is proof that he did not. Enjoy my friends.

Acai Especial Bowl

This isn’t quite like Jamba Juice Hawaii’s Acai Bowl, but this is so damn good. Introducing my new crack:

Acai Especial Bowl

Acai Especial Bowl

If you are a fan of Acai or yogurt with trail mix, I highly suggest getting one of these at your closest Robeks. I love Jamba Juice Hawaii’s Acai Primo Bowl, however the Jamba Juice in the mainland jewed us out of it. This doesn’t quite taste like it, but it has it’s own greatness which I do enjoy.

Acai topped with bananas and granola, what more can I ask for!?

Food Coma

Food Coma

The one good thing that came out of my sprained ankle is that people are helping me more. If I didn’t have this help, this injury would definitely cause me to go crazy.

My friend/coworker Dee (also my friend’s mom and my other friend’s aunt) was nice enough to get me some In N Out for my work shift today, since I’m not in a condition where I can get around easy.

Thanks a lot Dee!

Officially Injured

On Saturday at around 3:45 pm, I injured myself.

How did I injure myself? Well, I did a butterfly twist, something that I’ve done since I was 15 and landed every time. However, this time, I landed completely on my left ankle. Right after the impact, I collapsed into a fetus position holding my left leg. I was extremely scared that I may have broken my foot, but thank your lord that I didn’t.

Although my foot is only sprained, this is the worst injury up to date. I can’t walk and can’t even function with normal activities, such as making food, sitting down, etc.

It is extremely frustrating that I can’t even walk, which seems to be such a simple task. I almost feel like I’ve lost my independence. I know this is temporary, but I wish I was able to heal a whole lot faster.

Joe Ledbetter Slander Snake + Signing

So yesterday was the Joe Ledbetter signing at Kidrobot LA and the unofficial US release of his Slander Snakes. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to go, but I talked my sister into going. It was only one color purchase per person (there are 4 different color Slander Snakes), so my sister was only able to get her set. However she’s missing the Lava colorway…TOLD HER TO GET THEIR EARLY!

You can see her near the cash register with her bag that weighs more than her.

A better shot of my sister on the right.

Although I wasn’t able to make it out to meet one of my favorite artists, I was fortunate enough to go to Kidrobot today and pick up the blue and green Slander Snakes…the purple and black was sold out of course.

They were kind enough to sell me two sets

My New Addiction.

Thanks to my sister, I’m addicted to slurpees now.

Not pictured: Tuesday’s Slurpee.

I think the reason for my addiction is that this is pretty darn close to an ICEE. I grew up drinking ICEE’s and eating hot dogs with curly fries every Tuesday. After school, my sister and I would wait for my pops to come home and pick us up. Before heading back to the house, we would stop by the Topanga mall and buy food to go. Granted this was around 15+ years ago, but I still remember those wonderful days. Slurpees allow me to reminisce and enjoy those days that I spent with my family. Not to mention that they taste darn good when it is scorching hot outside.
