Back From My Travels, Time to Write Random

It’s been a while since I’ve gotten a chance to update and blog. I’ve been hopping airplanes, hotels, and car rides for the past two weeks. I have to say, home is where the heart is. I miss all the beautiful faces and places.

There’s always a sense of relief when my feet touches the ground in CA. I’ve been gone for two weeks and it feels like it’s been forever literally. The nice thing about going away is getting to come back home. The first night back is always the hardest night to catch up on sleep. Between the past 4 nights, I’ve slept only 8 hours total. No, I didn’t party in Vegas, I just can’t sleep well in hotels, nor can I sleep after arguements.

I sit here kind of speechless, not because I don’t have something to say, but because I don’t know how to use my words to portray the meaning. I’ve been told in life that the little things matter, the little things determine who you are and allow you to differentiate yourself from others. In a sense, the little things make you beautiful and make others beautiful.

Beauty is something that we all take for granted. I find beauty in the most simple and most little things. It’s beautiful and valuable if you can remember and carry out the most little things that can change a person’s day. Beauty is life, life is beautiful.

To say that I’m high strung on the little things in life is nothing short of a true statement. I truly believe that in order for big things to happen, you have to make sure to carry out and remember the little things in life. Life is a path, how can you skip the easy and simple things and move straight to the bigger and more complex things in life? It’s like trying to do multiplication without knowing how to add or subtract…it just doesn’t work.

Lead by example. Conquer the easy, simple, little tasks, to master the more complex and difficult tasks of life. My all time dream in life is to speak to the youth about my story, about what I used to do and who I used to be. In hopes to change someone’s life and to have them on the right path, I would like to use my story. My ideal situation would be to speak at schools and be a peer counselor. However, I’m questioning my credibility because how can I get strangers to think and take in what I say when I feel like I can’t even reach the one person closest to me?

At times, I feel like I’m a pyschology, communications, marketing, business, economics, and sociology major. I can attribute my views in life to the classes and the professors that taught me. After all, knowledge is power and knowledge is key.

Lost Tribe, Thank You

It’s been a while since I’ve danced the way that I did with my crew. It’s also been a month since I’ve actually seen my crew, but everytime I see them, its nothing different. We’re still close and tight knit. I’m tired so i’ll only write this much. To my crew, thank you for always being there for me and allowing me to count on you guys and talk to you guys about anything. My crew is the best. See you guys when I get back from Vegas

Successfully Driven

When my friends see what I’m doing and where I’m at in life, they say that I’m lucky. Sure, yes I’m lucky to be living  the life I am. However luck has nothing to do with any of this.

What I do right now and where I am in life is the result of my drive for success. With the grace of God, I was able to make this happen with hard work and determination. Nothing fell on my lap without me working hard to achieve what I desired.

I get irritated when individuals tell me they want to be successful and do this and that, but majority of the time they procrastinate and fail to push themselves. If you don’t work hard, what makes you really deserve a great position in life?

I believe in working hard, and playing hard. Work hard now and then enjoy the fruits of your labor later on. While away in college, I worked diligently on all my studies, at the same time trying to make a name for myself and gain experience of what I wanted to do. I worked hard and I rarely went out, unless it was the weekend.  My focus was on point, I got projects done in advance, papers finished way before the due date, all the while working. When I was at work, I focused on work, but if I had down time I spent those hours hitting the books. My days consisted of school, work and dancing here and there.

Everyone that is close to me knows that I’m far from nerdy. However I am passionate, driven, determined. I knew what I wanted in life and what I wanted my future to look like. I gave up countless hang out sessions with the crew, stopped dancing for months at a time, sacrificed hundreds of hours of sleep, just to pave my way. I’m not saying you have to sacrifice everything, I’m just saying you have to get your priorities straight and know what is more important as of now.

My hat goes off to those that work hard and wont rest until they finish what they have to do…as I always say, “there’s no rest for the weary just another day grinding up stone.”
